Not So Scary Halloween

I must admit, in all of our trips to Disney over the past few years, I’m a Not So Scary Halloween newbie. The date that we went in September was sold out and I was curious about the wait times but the wait lines were not bad at all. I encourage you to get your tickets in advance as they do sell out…

Dates for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2018:

  • August 17, 24, 28, 31
  • September 3, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30
  • October 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30, 31

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets start at $70 for children age 3 to 9 ($74.55 with tax) or $75 for those over 10 ($79.88 with tax).

The party is just at the Magic Kingdom. It technically begins at 7 but you can arrive as early as 4pm. You can also reserve some fast passes between 4-7 and I highly suggest doing so! We had one reserved for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and one for Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid. As the park visitors thinned out between 5-7, we barely waited in line for the rides.

My 3-year-old was given a bag and we loved trick or treating through the park. It was extremely warm outside so I was thankful that my daughter wanted to wear her light Ariel costume. I highly recommend checking the weather and dressing accordingly.

I had been waiting to get dinner reservations for Cinderella’s Royal Table for almost a year and I was able to score them for the night of the party. We rode rides for several hours then it turned dark. Our dinner reservations were for 8:30 and we headed over to the castle to see lots of other families waiting for their reservation times too. We ducked into The Castle Couture where my 3-year-old was able to shop for all of her favorite princess items. I was a happy momma when I noticed there was a photo backdrop and they were taking photos in front of it. The photos of my princess turned out adorable and I was thankful to have them.

We headed over to dinner in the Castle. When we arrived, we were led directly to the line to get photos with Cinderella. After photos, we waited about 20 minutes then our name was called. We headed up the circular stairs and were lead to our table. The dinner was amazing and the service was great. It was an unbelievable experience and I highly recommend doing this for your family. My daughter and I were handed magical wands. It was surely a magical experience. Each of the princesses wandered over to meet my daughter, sign her book, and get a photo with her. Due to the time that we had dinner, I was in a hurry to leave in time to see the fireworks and the second parade.

At the beginning of the fireworks, they turn all of the lights out. This was a little scary for my 3-year-old but she quickly adjusted. The firework show was everything Halloween themed. We loved it but my daughter was getting pretty sleepy as it was after 10 pm at this point. We opted to skip the party and the parade and get my quickly fading 3-year-old back to the Wyndham resort to sleep. This was definitely a magical night and I cannot wait for our next trip to Disney!
